Hatcher Alpine Xperience (HAX, dba Skeetawk) is a 501 (c)(3) organization working to develop a year-round recreational and educational alpine facility in Hatcher Pass, Alaska called Skeetawk. Starting with a grassroots group of dedicated volunteers and non-profit board members, HAX successfully completed a triple chairlift and associated supporting infrastructure and is ready for its first season of operations. Skeetawk is now a “turn key” regional ski area and outdoor recreation center scheduled to operate in December of 2020. Current planning includes adding a detachable quad and another chair to get us to the top of one of two peaks in our lease area, a lodge and associated infrastructure over the next five to ten years. The local community of Hatcher Pass in the City of Palmer and Matanuska Susitna Borough is located about 45 miles from Anchorage, Alaska.
“Skeetawk”-An Athabascan (local Native Amercian Tribe) word for “where we all slide down”.
The comprehensive employment resource for our global mountain sports and ski town communities.
